| "We
must learn and demonstrate how to value diversity.
We are all personally accountable. This may require
us to both change attitudes and take action. We
must create a culture that empowers and values all
peoples. We have a vision of a society populated
by people living to their highest potential and
helping others to do the same." |
 |
| More
and more organizations are working in teams.
When people of diverse backgrounds work together,
conflict may be the likely result if they
do not understand their differences, and are
therefore uncomfortable with one another.
When these differences are understood, the
team is more likely to produce a higher quality
service or product by using the richness of
its members' diverse perspectives and problem-solving
strategies. |

|
 |
| When we
separate people into groups of "us" and
"them" we often overlook areas of common
interest and common experience. These are areas
of common ground on which we can build relationships,
in spite of our other differences. |

Education
Through Adventure's Diversity Workshops strive
to create a "culture" in which participants
are driven to explore the philosophy and application
of diversity on many levels. Participants
learn to become more aware of diversity within
their workplace, and how it affects business,
relationships, and communication between people. |
