Educator Training Courses |
Education Through Adventure Educator Training courses are a result of expressed need from educators across the country. The trainings represent a proven methodology developed in the field over a period of over 15 years. Based on our experience and training evaluations, we have honed the training design and implementation model to best serve schools, camps, youth organizations and juvenile justice settings. |
In recent years, Education Through Adventure has been advancing a training model that includes awareness sessions and a one day training. This approach has proven most effective in providing a strong foundation for the classroom. The awareness sessions – 45 minutes, 90 minutes, or 3 hours – allows participants to learn about the rationale for the topic, participate in educational strategies and leave the training with tools to go back to the classroom. |
The one day training model – 3 ½ hours – 8 hours, builds on the awareness session or can stand alone. These trainings seek to provide a comprehensive framework for success. Attention is given to the curriculum’s substance and methodologies, and proven solution to positive classroom management. |
Pricing ranges from $45.00 per person and up, please call us for more information. |
SETTING THE STAGE |
The fist step in ensuring an active learning environment. Classroom Community building establishes a safe classroom community and encourages everyone to discover, connect, and share their own resources within the academic environment. Various techniques are used through experiential education to develop a sense of community. The goal is to educate participants on the importance of community through strong communication and active participation, which will help participants to establish a foundation for the classroom. |
CONFLICT RESOLUTION |
Throughout the course, participants are involved with a series of challenging problem–solving exercises, which are interactive. There are various approaches that can be used to solve the tasks, but differences of opinion arise and some level of frustration takes place. These experiences provide concrete situations where conflict arises. This module examines the strategies used when confronting conflict in the educational environment. Participants will leave the workshop with concrete solutions on what to do when confronted with conflict in the classroom. |
DIVERSITY AND CULTURAL AWARENESS |
The activities in this module discover the advantages of diversity and require participants to explore the philosophy and application of diversity within cultures. Participants learn to become more aware of diversity within their workplace, and how it affects business, relationships, and communication between individuals. The course is designed to facilitate the process of learning to respect human commonalities and differences. |
